I need a new gas tank for my 52 1/2 ton chevy, Chevy duty has them now for 139.95. My Chevy duty catalogue had them for 199.95 They are made in China they just told me. Has anybody bought one of these and do they fit ok? I would love a NOS.

I bought a new gas tank from Chevy Duty last summer. The only complaint is that I had to find out through trial and error that the threads on the bottom of the tank are metric! I went through a couple of iterations of leaks before a representative from Chevy Duty was on this board and put me in touch with the proper person at Chevy Duty.

They confirmed that it was made in China and would require a metrick pipe nipple. Everything is fine now. The tank itself fit well and seems well made.

Just FYI I have two gas tanks sitting idle. Probably not original but not these Chinese versions either. Anyone near Sacramento, CA who wants one or both can have them free.

Just pick them up - sorry I can't ship them.
