Well I thought I had this one figured out, but after searching the archives I am back to being confused. I thought a fresh air heater, dealer installed in a 52 3100 was hammertone brown. Now all the pictures I can find show it painted to match whatever color the interior is painted, or a hammertone silver/grey. can somebody tell me the correct color? Denny I know you are into details like this any idea? Thanks, and now it is off to my retirement party!!

I know the gmc's of that year were usually the hammertone brown/champane whatever, but all the original chevy's i've seen are the pulsar gray, or some hammertone of the like.

Hi 1953 panel,
That is one in the what I thought column. As I posted earlier I thought up till 54 the fresh air heater was hammertone brown. Thank you for responding.

My 1954 recirculating and Air Flow (Fresh Air) Chevrolet heaters are a grayish color.

Chevs of the 40s has gray hammertone paint).

The color looks like these.

My 54/55 GMC Air Flow (deluxe) heater has the brown hammertone color.

I do not know about pre-54 colors.

The original color on my '54 was definitely brown hammer. I found a spray can at Walmart that is nearly a perfect match, Rust-oleum Hammered brown #210880. I looked at Ace Hardware, Lowes and Home Depot, Walmart had the best price. Jim Carter sells a heater paint but I haven't looked at it.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for answering. It seems everybody is all over the map on this one. Unless somebody has knows for sure I am leaning towards hammertone brown. It will a couple of weeks before I can get to painting the new heater, so all input is welcome. Thanks again, Jimmie.
