Yes, you can get the heat riser unfrozen after many (who knows how many) years of not functioning. I searched these forums and just followed the advice. A lot of liquid wrench and a little hammering every day for about a week. Got it working last night. I was so excited I made the wife come out and look. Luckily she understands these things. Our truck (his name is RT) is a family member. So now I wait for the counterweight to arrive from Oklahoma. Im having the 235 overhauled and this will be one more thing done. A small issue, I know , but I figured you guys would understand.

Thanks, MO. I found one in Oklahoma. Toms. I think he is on this website also. I should have the part tomorrow or Friday I hope. Then its back to Elson Nichols who is rebuilding my 235. I restored the oil filter and stripped and painted the manifolds. Im ready to get this done!

Let me know what Elson charges you for your rebuild. My 235 is running ok now but it's not going to last forever and I better start budgeting for it sooner rather than later. Are you going up to K.C. for the truck show?

Elson told me that the full rebuild "will not exceed $1200.00". I am having him go through the 3 speed tranny as well. I dont know what that will cost but it shouldn't be much. I am not sure about the truck show yet. I may have a conflict with that date.
