My truck did not come with exterior weather stripping against side windows. See link below which shows 4 photos. Photo #1 shows door from exterior, Photo #2 show door from interior, Photo #3 shows page from assembly manual on how the weather stripping should be installed and Photo #4 shows the weather stripping piece which came with complete weather stripping package. My question is how am I to get weather stripping against window? Does this truck have the wrong stainless molding piece (no way to attach weather stripping) Any help or pictures would be great.

That pc. of rubber goes in just below the window opening ,if You look down from the inside ,side of the door looking toward the outside You'll see a track just below the window opening it'll have a gap in the middle you take that rubber strip and slid it into one side than the other

thanks Pete, I'll look again tonight. I don't remember seeing that channel to slide rubber in. Did you see it in my pictures?

Yes in pic. #2 below the chrome trim inside the door just below the window opening on the outside part of the door that seals the outboard side of the window glass than the" wiskers "that are on the inside window trim seal up the inside of the window glass and keep the window from banging around when You're driving or closing the door.When You look down there You'll see it.
The rubber is angled up toward the top of the door so when You put the glass in make sure it's not folded down the edge should ride on the glass.

Bruce, not trying to hijack the thread but where did you buy your seals?
The seal that you and Pete seem to be referring to is missing on mine, the few bits that are remaining are like Bakelite!
You can actually see the track in question in pic #3.

Also Pete, are you saying these seals are fed in through the notch in the middle of the retaining track?

That's the way I put them in it's called outer weatherstrip in the book pic.#3 but in pic 2 you can see the cannel ,just slid one side in than fold it and slid the other side in.I use a pair of long nose pliers to guide it thru the track.

The ones for pre vent windows 50 and older are longer

Thanks Pete, another part of the jigsaw found!

I could see some folks skipping this part as it's not seen, as an auto glass guy it just wouldn't seem right not to replace them.....
Plus I want my truck to be as draught and rattle free as possible.

Found it last night thanks to you! Slid one end in and folded and then the other. Vent window in and channels, windows works good. Took me a while to figure out the step process on putting all these pieces in. Now the inside garnish moulding looks like it will be a squish job.
