The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Dual carb Linkage

I'm installing dual Carter W-1's on an Offenhauser dual intake on a 235. I'm having a very hard time visualizing the linkage between the two carbs and how the original throttle linkage from the bell crank below will drive them.
To add to the confusion further, how is the Throttle and Choke cable best attached?
Jon at Carbking sent me a diagram but I'm a (challenged) individual who could really use a few pics to bring it into focus.
Even if you don't have the exact setup, something is better than me continueing to put that square peg into a round hole. :confused:

I am not sure your set up is the same as mine as I have Carter YFs on a 216 but here is what I doi have. There should have been a linkage arm that came with the manifold. Each end bolts to the throttle arm on the carbs where the linkage that comes up from below went. when you attach it, the arm on the connecting linkage should end up right where your arm was on a single carb. Only one carb provides vacuum to the distributor, take your pick, I used the forward one. The other one gets blocked off. Only one choke is used. That would be the rear one. Just hook it up as you normally would and use it the same way. You need to set the carbs up BEFORE you hook them together. Use rubber bands to hold the arms down. I turned the idle screw out about 3/4's of an inch on each then started 'er up. Then i adjusted each till they sounded good. Hook up the linkage and adjust the idle speed screws so they both bottom out at the same place. If you ping me offline at [email protected], I'll send you a pic or two.

Yikes! That look complacated. My throttle linkages are actually on the head side of the carbs.
Is that braided line coming out of the center part of the Offenhauser a vacuum line going to your vacuum advance in the distributor?
