The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop 1939 Chevy truck paint colors

I am restoring a 1939 Chevy truck and I noticed on the tech tips that the standard interior color was Thunder Gray. But when I look at Auto Color Library for 1939 paint colors, there's nothing for Thunder Gray OR any indication of interior colors. Also, I can see that the original exterior color was black but black isn't an option on Auto Color Library. Can someone unconfuse me?!

Those chips are only for exterior colors. Interior colors are poorly documented and restorers seem to usually find the correct formula empirically. I don't think ACL sells interior paints for these vehicles.
Black is black is black and therefore does not need a special chip or formula.

Was the interior color different for 1939 trucks than for the later 40's and 50's model? It's hard to tell with the faded paint in my cab if it was even metallic. I kind of think it wasn't....there's no clue at all as to the original color?
