The info I've been able to find tells me that I can use any housing from any 52 - 55 car or 1/2 ton P/U.having to change the carrier because of the open driveline. Can anyone shed some light on this? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | Any 1951-62 1/2 ton housing will have Bendix brakes, same axles, and pumpkin set-up and will fit. You will need to do work on the spring mounts with any other housing.

Aslo, I think that 57 and later had pads designed for wider leaf springs. | | |
