Greetings! I'm concerned about rust in the original tank of my 57 GMC and want to replace it. I assume these behind the seat tanks didn't change much and I'm wondering what year the tank design changed? Any other suggestions on tank replacement will be appreciated. Thanks.

the tanks are identical, 55-59, Chevy or GMC and are available from most vendors, including the Old Car Centre in Langley [part# 55-9310]

If it is just a little rusty you can clean and line your existing tank. I saw a write up in a truck mag in the last month or two. Getting it done professional will cost as much or more as a repro tank. I just had a tank cleaned and relined at a radiator shop for an old motor home for 150$. I would have done it myself but the tank was really lacquered up and had baffles that would make it difficult at best.

I've heard nothing but good comments about Spectra Premium gas tanks. And they are made in your country.
