I originally put a 180 thermostat in and changed it to a 160 along with a new water pump.During the winter I had no problems now that it is getting warmer outside it seems like at idle it goes back to about 185 degrees.Has anybody installed an electric fan in front of the radiator and does anyone seem to have tempramental problems with their 235 during the warmer months. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | What year 235 are you running? High pump or Low pump block? You may need to get the relocater plate to get the pump and fan centered in the radiator if you have the later low pump block. Before you add an wlwctric fan, I would suggest adding a sroud around the stock fan. You would be amazed at how much difference just putting a shroud on will make. Having said that, I will admit that I do have an auxilliary fan on mine, as well as a shroud. I only use it when the temp is way up and i'm sitting in heavy traffic, or if I shut the engine down but not long enough for it to cool off much. It is somewhat tempermental if the temp goes much above 180. I have my fan on a manual switch, and turn it on and off by the gauge reading (only run enough to get the temp down to 160-170, then shut off and let the engine fan take over).
