guys,
i now have all my blinker / tail / brake lights working.....
i received my new blinker housing and switch from classic parts today, installed it and everything is working fine. tested it about 25 times.
in the beginning i had bad grounds, and that was causing the lighting of both elements in the 1157 bulb when only hitting the brakes or only headlights, but after i got the grounds fixed, i was having erratic light functions. turned out it was the blinker switch.

thanks to all, especially squeeze.

Good to see you got results Leonard.
Obviously apart from the bad switch,a valuable lesson was learned.
An electrical system is pretty much useless, without good clean grounds/earths.
I'll be paying special attention to mine......

I hate electrical problems, especially coming from a country that used Lucas electrical systems in their cars/trucks for years! wink

Didn't think so, Jock, just yanking your chain a little! I guess my 4-century-old Scottish heritage must be overriding the influence of my English-immigrant great-grandmother- - - -I like my brew COLD, too!
