The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot '60-'66 Trucks Heater removal

I'm stripping out my engine compartment to prep/paint it, but I can't quite figure out how to get the heater off the firewall. I took out the bolts that attach it to the top of the firewall, and don't see anymore, but its tight on there and won't budge. It looks like maybe the ducting needs to be unscrewed behind the dash, but it also looks like it has a flange that won't fit through the hole in the firewall.

Whats the trick to getting the heater off the wall?

This is a '66 C10 with the heater in the engine bay.....

There are 2 studs that go through the firwall into the cab. You have to remove the nuts from inside the cab. They may be hidden by the firwall pad.
