I have 7.50-16LT tires, would 235-85-R16 tires work?
What non-split rim rims work on these trucks? Would it be better to just update the rims and tires together? What year and make would fit the 8 bolt pattern?

| | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | The 235/85/16s will work fine, but you will need to go to a 1 peice wheel. Any 8 lug 16" up to '87 will work, you can also use up to '98 from 2wd 3/4 and 1 tons.

I've run radials with the correct tubes in them on split rim wheels, but the radial-type tube is a must. Bias-ply tubes will chafe and wear through in a very short time. Some tubeless 16" rims will not fit over the big brake drums on early-model 3/4 or 1-ton axles because the drop-center rims are too small to clear the drums. A 17.5" tapered-bead tubeless tire will have the same height as a 16" tube type, but those tires and wheels are scarce and expensive.

$169.99/each
$80 freight
$15/mount
$1287 total
I'm going to try and buy them here and there to see if I can get that price in half.
