I just bought a 1957 235 to keep the project pipeline full. The carburetor on the 235 looks real good and the carburetor on my 216 has a sticky float and leaks gas. Can I do a straight swap?

Check the spacing on the mounting bolt holes, I think you'll find that they are different.
