FRANK AT THE INTERNATIONAL TOWING AND RECOVERY MUSEUM WAS A LOT OF HELP. WHEN I WAS REBUILDING THE POWER TAKEOFF ON THE WRECKER I WAS A LITTLE UP SET TO FIND OUT THAT HOLMES USED MODEL T FERD DIFFS.TO POWER THE CABLES.THIS TRUCK WAS VERY ROUGH,A COUPLE YEARS AFTER I GOT IT MY WIFE AND OUR RELATIVES SAID THE DAY I BROUGHT IT HOME THEY THOUGHT I WAS INSANE. A LOT OF SHEET METAL AND BODY WORK NEW BRAKES,WIRING,MOTOR AND MUCH MORE.PICTURES TO FOLLOW.

Chris, I understand prefectly well about the time. I spent 5 years on my 37 and I"m entering my 4th year on the panel so with all the work you've done I'd say "your moving right along" !!!

Welcome to the bolt. There are a few guys around the shop that and Wrecker guys to. I'm sure you'll find them.... if they don't find you first!!

Any pics of your project?? We like pics.

WOW, as much as I did not want to register w/snapfish, the lead photo made it mandatory. I started driving at 15 when the old man would have me take our tow truck around the block and park it on the street again every 90 mins. to avoid parking tickets. That truck was about a '48 Diamond T with "power steering by Armstrong". Great C.O.E. wrecker...rare.

Wait 'til Billy Marlow sees this! Couldn't you picture Chris's wrecker pulling Billy's '46 COE ... not broken down mind you ... just as a cute couple.

grin

Should get this in the Ga11ery today. Gotta get Paul to do some computer-magic on the server access.

Just took a look at the pictures...you did a really nice job. Especially so given the space you had to work in. That ceiling fan looked pretty close to the top of the cab in the one shot.

Do you have the tow bar for the rear...I did not see it in any of the shots. Not that much can be towed with a bar any more anyway....and you may not even be planning on ever using it....but it would make it a little more complete.
