| | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,048 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,048 | I’m trying to keep my ’41 as stock looking as practical. It has a 12 volt system with a generator. It also has the original 6V horn mounted to a cast flange on the intake manifold. My problem is that putting 12 volts on the horn makes it sound terrible. I’ve tried a couple of different resisters with no luck, once hooked up the horn will not work at all.
I’m wondering if there were 12 volt horns that look about the same and could mount to the manifold

You should be able to adjust the Klaxon horns if you take the cover off the back. The vibrator probably doesn't have a chance to fully cycle on 12v.
