What years were these bolts used?

i have the drilled bolt and the hole is nothing like what you have shown. the hole is up on the shoulder just below the head.

Tim, you use this bolt when a 1959-62 block ,which has an 11/32" orifice for the rocker oiling control (Through 1958 it is 1/16") is used with any 1958 or earlier rocker setup. This bolt which has a 1/16" hole in it restricts the flow to match the 1958 and earlier rockers that had the groove centered inside the rockers (not offset like 1959-62).

Note in parts book: Use with drilled bolt.
Plug # 3764579
Install in block oil port near right center head bolt.
(This plug blocks the original oil path and sends it through the drilled head bolt)

I feel for ya buddy, I used a dial up set up till about a year ago when my wife finally got feed up with it and went out and odered the comcast package. Best thing that's happened to me when it comes to the internet with as mucn time as I spend on it. It' used to take me most of the morning to post pictures to Webshots or Photobucket, now if someone asks a question about a stock '50 Stovebolt I can usually have an answer to them in less than an hour.

I like the photo of the head bolt with the slot in the threads.That should really improve oil flow considering on a 235-261 the oil does not go past the bolt thread,take the time to actually check out the oil passages in the head..This wife's tale continues year after year.

since i had to take pics of mine for further documentation i was looking around for what i was going to shot and how to write it up. first i removed the bolt and shot it. i then was staring down the bolt hole as to how the oil flow actually went. i looked at it some time ago and figured it out without the bolt in picture. something caught my attention to detail today with the bolt, bolt hole and the oil galley itself. i took the plug out of the block and shined a light in it and saw light at the bottom of bolt hole. i wondered how the oil got past the bolt. so i put the bolt in and looking in the hole in the block i couldnt see the bottom of the bolt. i thought how will/does this work. since light doesnt bend i couldnt use that. i blew air in the hole in the block with the bolt installed and torqued and air came out full force of where the oil connector for the rocker assembly sits in. i was confused but after shooting air in it a couple of times i take it they made a way for the oil to get past the bolt and into the galley.
