I want to put powersteering in my 62 snb on a 65 chassie.I've got steering box and was told it would be good to put a reinforcment plate on the back side of the frame to keep it from cracking. Is there any place that makes that plate or do I need to make it myself. Thanks Justin

I have done this conversion many times. The '60-'62 truck frames are boxed, so doing the conversion is a little more involved, however, since you are doing the conversion on a '65 C10 frame the modification is relatively easier. The power steering conversion brackets are designed to, not only, reinforce the frame rail, due to the additional holes in this area, but also, provide the correct geometry and spacing from the frame rail, to avoid interference. Although there are several kits on the market, I fabricate a kit of 1/4" stainless steel, cut with a water jet and Grade 8 fasteners.

this is my first Chevy truck but not my first time fixing up a vintage car. I've fone several model a Fords in the past and do automotive typ painting at a metal fab shop. The truck was givin to me by my Cousin due to the fact he lost interest in the truck. I Just got off the phone with him.I miss understud him the last time I talk to him. The Chassie is a 62 has 2" dropped spindels and newer disk brake and 4" dropped springd in the rear. Thanks for the info I'll getting ahold of you soon.
