Saw the truck today. WOO HOO!

Here is our problem. Put the hood down without the hinges, lines up perfect. Hook the hinge springs up and the back of the hood wont go down.

Weird.....

buddy of mine has a 53 thats doing the same. we figure since he got his truck in pieces that the hinges arent fo rthat truck? but if we cut the top of the hinges down and redrill they will fit. we cant figure it out and have spend 2 solid days playing with it.

The hood-alignment procedure in the Shop Manual works quite well in bringing down the rear edge of an A-D hood.

Here is another procedure in the Tech Tips.

What Tim is saying works I followed the shop manual on My hood and it fits perfect and did My buddys hood and it worked for His to .

Mine did this too,when I installed the springs.Turndd out the holes in the arms were worn larger.I got some hinges at a swap meet,that worked.
