If it was me I'd just walk into a shop and ask. Are there any good mechanics here or do you know of one ?
I now use this approach if I'm wondering....why not ask.
I'll admit the reaction I get when used on a doctor or lawyer is different, but the reaction will tell you the answer your looking to hear.
If they're good they say they are, if they hesitate they're trying to come up with an answer, although some especially lawyers are takin back a little by the question at first but if they know they are good will say so and you can tell if they are just blowin smoke.
So if you find a good one ask him to let you talk to someone he's already done work for.
If he can't come up with someone, there's probably a reason why and say thanks...see ya.
