Howdy again.
I'm back at it trying to get my heater working. I have "tested" the control valve by blowing in it and such, and have found that it leaks air into the controls from the hose end. I'm guessing that water will pour out into the cab onto my brand new carpet if I install it this way. I have found the little gasket on the outside of the dual copper pipe fitting with the valve inside it is bad for sure. I saw I can order one on classicparts.com
However, I was wondering if this is my problem. The way that gasket fits, I'm worried it won't hold the pressure. Is there any other gasket on those controls that prevents water from entering the cab??? If I clean the flange and valve rod will I eliminate the possibility of water entering my cab from there?
Thanks in advance,
JBJ
BTW, I did try the search option on this but couldn't find anything.....

chevy may have the part. But if you can't find ,you can buy a flow control valve at a auto parts store.

Thanks dan-pa,
That's definitely what I'll do is get a control valve at an auto parts store if I can't get the original one fixed. I would like to keep it as original as possible if I can. Do you know if the valve gasket that classic parts has is the one that keeps any water from coming out of the valve into the cab?
Here's the address of the part I'm speaking of: http://www.classicparts.com/1947-66-Heater-Control-Valve-Seal/productinfo/68%2D191/
Thanks again,
JBJennings
