For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 183 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2003 Posts: 183 | I had the starter rebuilt on my 1952 Chevy 3100. When I reinstalled it, and started the truck, the starter made so much noise, I couldn't hear the engine. So, of course, I did a search on the forum to figure out what was wrong. I found a post about the starter linkage hitting the firewall. When I checked mine out, I noticed I had forgotten to hook the little spring back up that pulls the linkage away from the button. It's as quiet as a mouse now. Thought this might help someone else.
My dad always told me, "Don't force it, get a bigger hammer".
