I have a ’53 and I have a problem and I cannot imagine it is a new one. Rear bearing are shot. Problem is the pintail the bearing rides on is also bad. Apparently there is no inner race to the bearing on theses. The rollers ride right on the pintail.
What do I do? Turn down the pintail and order a bearing with an inner race? (Suggestion on the numbers on theses and how to do it?) Or just install new bearings and hope for the best?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Those barrel bearings are expensive to just hope for the best. I would look for some used axles that are in better shape. You might even be lucky enough to find a housing with usable bearings in it.
