I have no first hand knowledge but have looked at some wiring diagrams. The '29 and '30 rigs were negative ground and the '34 was negative ground so I'll go out on a limb and say that the '33 was probably negative ground too!
I believe Chevrolet did use a positive ground but it was in the very very early years, and then only for a year or two.
