The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk 15" wheel question

I have this 15" wheel on my '50 model 3100, http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/2/2877/4121/19692060190_large.jpg ,from what I've seen by looking at other wheels, the center section looks different, mine has 6 clips to hold the hubcap on, but once the hubcap is on, the contour of the wheel rolls out towards the outer part of the rim.

I've seen other wheels that look like these, http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/2/2877/4121/19692060191_medium.jpg , which one is correct for a '50 model, what is the first wheel I posted from?

I don't think any of them is actually correct for a '50 1/2 ton. 16" rims were what they had as standard equipment. Just looking, I would say that the first wheel in your post is from a '55-'59, it look exactly like the wheels that came on my '55 2nd series.
Perhaps someone more knowlegable with Advance Design options can shed light on this.

Do some searching on the inside of the un-mounted wheels. You should see some markings stamped in the wheel. Looks something like this. This wheel stamp is a 6 lug 15x6 wheel w/6 clips. The stamp will let you know when the wheel was made and point you to the application.

15" wheels were a Regular Production Option for 1/2 ton trucks during all Advance-Design years.
