The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop two-tone paint color help!

Hi guys,

My '50 1/2 ton is headed to the paint shop next week and I need some help. I'm doing a 2-tone scheme w/ the 4 fenders and running boards black and everything else silver. I don't believe this was an original option, but I've seen it done before. Questions are.....would the running board-to-bed filler panel be black or silver? What about the front splash apron or the rear bumper filler panel? Help! Thanks guys!

These are all a matter of personal choice.

..... originally, the board-to-bed filler was bed color (however, anything was possible on a special order paint job)

..... originally, there was no rear bumper filler. However, the bed color might be a good choice.

My personal choice would be black for all those parts. At cruz night a few weeks ago a guy showed up with a super sweet '53 5 window that was medium/dark silver with metalic charcoal fenders/boards. Wish I had my camera. The truck was a frame off resto, all original except for paint/colour. The engine was painted met charcoal as well.
