I have a 1942 3/4 ton with the original 216 engine. It is time to rebuild the carb but I am having trouble finding a kit and more importantly which kit to buy. There seems to be quite a few from some sources and others have only two different kits.

There is the number 421 on the base of the carb and other various patents and such.

If someone can help me I would be very grateful. Also can someone tell me if this would be the original and correct carb for my 42 truck.

Thanks so much. Chris

The 421 is not totally unique so impossible from this number to be certain, but this number would have been on the underside of the W-1 used in 1942.

More information would be necessary to identify the carb completely.

The most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify.

Jon,
Thank you for the reply. That certainly answers the later part of my question. That is good to know that this is the original carb for this 42 truck.

What other info do you need from the carb to positively identify which kit I will need?

Chris
