I have some advertising pictures but nothing substantial to go on. There is a reference to a company that sells all the supporting hardware and there are really great diagrams. | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 1,186 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 1,186 | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | I am familiar with both companies having done business with them. A good friend of mine owns Kampco but here is the problem with each. You stated you wanted a period piece and neither of them makes anything like that. Kampco does have some roll parts that come close to the radius contoured rubrails of the 40's and 50's but still isn't the same. Good Luck and hope you find something that is acceptable to you. | | | | Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 2,074 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 2,074 | The original GM truck literature shows drawings of the various flatbeds/stakesides etc. Sorry I'm not sure of the link but check on this site for tech tips etc. Also I have the 1941 Chevrolet Truck Data Book, a glove box size little book also shows some stakebeds, and I'm pretty sure this book is avail. in reprint.
Also my 53 3/4 ton has it's factory bed and stake sides, take a look. | | | | Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 12 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 12 | Thanks for the tips. I will look into them. | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 141 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 141 |

The guy put a pick up bed on instead. It was an old farm truck from the prairies. I recall it was for a 5 window. He is in Kelowna, BC and would not ask a lot for it. I can search up his email if you are interested. The profiles of their rubrails would probably be too modern for the look you want. | | | | Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 29 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 29 | I have a nice bed on a 46 up for grabs. See the for sale section.
