Hi Guys, I'm hoping someone can guide me as to what my 1950 suburban may be worth; straight body ,good paint, new stock suspension, brakes, wiring,tires,all the seats were just re-upholstered but not yet installed, new gauges not yet installed, runs good but has a 235 in it,I was in the process of putting everything back to stock, there is a carpeted piece of plywood over the original floor and the interior quarters have modern upholstery on them,the vehicle isn't perfect but it sure is nice! this was my dream vehicle, cancer has forced me to get rid of it. Thanks for your help

Not sure about the worth of the vehicle but it does sound as though much work has been done. I'm sure some bolters will be along shortly with what prices they have experienced.

A BIG help would be to post a few pictures if possible.

Considering what I paid for my panel, and have spent on it, and what you have done to your vehicle I will make a "stab" at it.
I'd say in todays market somewhere between $4500 and 6500. STRAIGHT body and good paint is worth a good bit, NEW suspension/upholstery/seats/tires is why I say what I did.

Oh, is the engine rebuilt or does it "not need it". That can push it up or down.

OK, lets hear it guys. Help the man out. Am I off base?? This is a Surburban now.

I paid significantly more than that for it.... hopefully I won't get stung too bad. The engine runs fine, the previous owner indicated it had been rebuilt a couple of years before I bought it in 2007, I don't know if I believe that though.

Hi suberbin, I too will be praying for you and your situation. It sounds like you are making some tough decisions.

It's hard to say without seeing it, but values are different in different parts of the country. Up here in Canada, most of the old iron is brought up from state side, adding to the value. There is a guy on this site, Steve, aka oldsub who also lives in Washington state. He would be the one to know, he wheels and deals in these vehicles on a regular basis. Whoa! I just checked out the pictures in your submission to the DITY_Gallery. It looks like you have the exterior trimmed out nicely. I have no idea of the value. I hope your health takes a turn for the better, and you get to keep it.

That is one cool sub you have there. Way better than I imagined when you posed your question. Not sure if I can put a dollar value on it, but I think Alvin may be a bit low.

Its worth what a willing buyer will pay. I know that's a little trite, but in today's economic situation there aren't as many people willing to part with money for toys as there were a few years ago, and the old saw about supply and demand makes it likely the price won't be as high as it could have been, nor as high as it might be in another year or two.

I realize health issues don't always allow flexibility, but if you can hold the truck a while it might get a much better price.

1.Put it out to the world with pictures. Tell them the firm price/least you will take for it and be flexible about holding it with payment till they can come get it or arrange for shipment.

2. Auction it at a regional show with a reserve if it is driveable.

3. Give it to a dealer with a minmum you will take after his commission.

Suberbin...keep your chin up...I suggest you sell the truck on ebay. Use the "best offer" with a "buy it know" feature . Buy it now" for $10K...accept offers over $7500. If the seats are originals, I suggest you sell the middle and rear seats separately as the're worth nearly $1500. by themselves. Good luck.

in los angeles any complete suburban that is running and is not a rust bucket is selling starting at $10,000 hang in there we are dealing with cancer in my house hold too do your research check out the american cancer web site. sent me some pictures with your contact info, there are some other websites i could post it for you and have them contact you directly

I would agree with a starting value of 10K. I would expect it to do better than that. There are a lot of trucks for sale at any given time but there are very few non rust bucket suburbans for sale. Ebay gives a lot of exposure but you have to be really careful with who you are selling to.

superbin hang in there dude! i beat cancer in 92' and the cure has come tenfold since then. we will all pray for you and try not to let $$finaces$$ get you down as they can be taken care of after you get better. i was down to being able to pay the mortgage co. $15 a month but as long as i sent something they were off my back. never a good time to have health issues but it is really bad out there and if you do sell it chances are your gonna take a beating. good luck

All the ideas posted so far would get you an idea on what your 'Burb is worth, but if you want a realistic value you might consider having it appraised. You'd get an appraisal on your home if you were selling it, no? I don't know what that would cost but it would certainly eliminate any more guesswork and give you better info to help you decide on selling or not selling. It certainly won't cost anything to get a quote on the fee for an accurate appraisal. After you have that info, you could compare it to the feeBay costs for just listing your vehicle. Not to mention the final price fees as well. Make sure you get some references from any appraiser so you can get a feel for how knowledgeable they are or aren't. If they won't give references, take a pass.

This is an unrelated question , but is the color you have your sub painted ? Is that creme medium ?

Sorry Oldog but it was painted that color when I bought it, so I'm not sure.
