Hi everyone!

I have been hard at work putting in a chevy 350, replacing my 235. (235 is free for anyone who wants it...) The swap went better than anticipated! The new motor mounts(http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Chevy-to-1955-1959-Chevy-Pickup-Motor-Mounts,8473.html) went right in, and the motor went right in without a problem.

Except one.

When I first removed the tranny, I had to remove the shifter by removing the top of the tranny. Now, with everything back together, I noticed a couple of the gears do not feel like they are "going into the gear". When I shift up or down, some of the gears start to go into the gear, but not all the way. Reverse and 3rd go into gear.

Linkage problem? Clutch adjustment? or is it a problem that occurred when I pulled the top off of the tranny? any help is appreciated! It's a 1958 apache 1/2 ton. Motor is not running yet.

Sounds like you've lost some travel. Usually that's due to some sort of interference with the linkage, either something in the way keeping it from moving far enough or off center enough that it can't move its intended distance.

Shoot, I hope not. I still have some play with the linkage, another 2 inches on the threaded push rod.

I changed my bellhousing (late 60's truck), but I kept the same clutch fork. Clutch fork pivot ball was a little different, I wonder if that has to do with it...

Either way, thanks for the advice baldeagle, I'm going to mess with it soon.
