Can I put R 44 AC plugs in ,I have them from my 1961 Pontiac. If someone can tell me which AC plug I can use I would appreciate it. For what its worth, I use autolite 295. The real trick will be finding them. Seems that AC has cut way back on their part number inventory, with many "obsolete" parts being discontinued. I've been told that the only plug currently available from AC is the R43, which is what I currently have in mine. Another option would be to use the J8C Champion.

As far as finding new C44's, your pretty much out of luck except if you find them on Ebay. I think the Accels are $2.89 or something to that effect but if you want something cheap that still works good go get some Autolites. That's what I have in the '54 right now and they work fine. They are much better then the conventional plugs but can only be used on overhead valve engines.

They are readily available at FLAPS and places like Farm & Fleet. Every morning I listen to AM 1710 Antioch, well, all day really. Better tune in Denny, (radiomacinmind.com) I'm such a nerd I listen to it on my crackberry, on the aux input in the truck even. There's an hour of The Whistler (Signal Oil Program), and then an hour of Suspense! I have been totally brain washed by all their clever advertising. Did I mention the plugs were cheaper? Hahahaha, I'm so cheap.
The main thing Bruce, is to drive around, and wear out those dang plugs!
