I was wondering if the front axle on a 1953-1959 chevrolet 3/4 ton. Will swap over onto a 1946 3/4 ton truck. Or if its possible to swap just the hubs, drums and backing plates onto the 1946 axle. The reason I want to do this swap is to get away from the original huck style brakes.

The axle from a Task Force truck is different than that under an Advance Design truck so your range is too wide for the answer to be yes.

It is lik3ly possible to swap an Advance Design axle under an Art Deco truck but I don't know how much trouble it would be.

Regarding swapping hubs and drums and backing plates, lots of people have done this on a half ton, hopefully someone will come along with a report on a 3/4...

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...

The '53 to '55 1st series axle should bolt into your truck.

I did the bendix brake swap on my '52 3/4 ton axle. I used my original hubs. I believe the 3/4 ton axle and spindles are the same part number from '46 to '52, so you should be able to do the same thing with yours, but I would confirm the numbers with a parts manual first...I don't have mine handy right now.

What year model truck did you get your brake drums and backing plates off of to do the bendix brake swap? because the hubs on your and my truck have different part numbers but the drums and backing plates are the same?
