Here is a small video of the transmission testing to make sure everything works good. The only thing that makes me wonder a little is the tapping noise coming from the rear towards the end of the video. Its when I let up in fourth gear. Can't really find whats making it yet. I don't thing it is the gears because it runs smooth until letting up in fourth. It might be the wheels vibrating while on the jack stands.

after listening to it again, I can tell it is definitely coming from the rearend gears. It is a new ring and pinion gear set. Does it take some time to brake in a little, or do you think I have to much clearance?

the pinion bearing [front bearing/seal/jam nut] might not be tightened properly, there's a very specific procedure, though I'm not up on the AD's .... hard to tell with the exhaust noise, also I don't think the sound when you held the clutch in is right

I was wandering about the clutch noise too. It sounds like something is rattling. I'll have to get someone to push the clutch while I look underneath.
I'll try to retorque the pinion bearing. The sound wasn't there at all the first time I did this (not on video). It started at the time you see on the video.

maybe a keeper was left off the pinion nut? the clutch sounded like misadjustment to me, like moving too far maybe and rubbing on the pressure plate case, or maybe the clutch fork misaligned

the pipes sure do sound nice, but i can't hear any noise except for the clutch. def get a peek at that clutch operation; throwout bearing/lever coming back too far/boot-pad?
took a look at the clutch, and I cant really see anything. It is a brand new pressure plate and clutch. The only thing I can think of that is wrong, is with the pressure plate.

It did before I put it on. It was a new one. I'll have to go look at that. That I can definitely see.

The throwout bearing spins good. I think it would have to be in the pressure plate. Which sucks because I am going to have to pull the trany to get to it.

pull the tranny? maybe. but since the noise is only happening when the arm/ bearing is in contact with the pressure plate, see if the noise happens at the initial point of contact, or when there's greater to full pressure applied
The noise doesn't get any louder or change the further I push the clutch in. Just stays the same. But it starts when the pressure plate gets clearance from the clutch. When I let up, the noise stops as soon as I see the wheels start to turn.

Ok. The last few days I've been busy taking things apart then putting them back together. On the rear end knocking, I found that there were some burrs on the differential that were hitting the pinion gear when it came around. I think that when I had it in fourth for the first time it hit, then made the burr bigger, then started hitting all of the time. Thats why you can't hear it in the video until the end of fourth gear. I took the shim behind the pinion gear out. That is how I found it before changing the ring and pinion. That would give me a little more clearance with the pinion, and the contact with the ring and pinion is still ok. I then ground down the burrs smooth on the differential.
With the clutch noise, I took out the pressure plate and compared it with the old one. The old one was solid and the new one would wiggle a bit. I readjusted the contracting springs to make the pressure plate solid.
I put everything back together and started it up. The clutch noise went away and there is not knocking noise in the rear. I can hear the ring and pinion gear making contact when I get close to it and listen though. But I could hear that kind of noise by moving it by hand before putting the rear end back on. I think it is just the small backlash the book calls for (.004 to .008). I'm guessing when things get broke in a little it will be smoother.
