Fit on my 1946 chevrolet 3/4 ton truck or is the back spaceing wrong? | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 | For my 51 I looked for similar rims. What I found was that rims that were 6" in width usually had a backset of 4" or less and that was the critical measurement for me. The main problem was finding rims that wouldn't hit the tie rod ends. Also I had to make sure that the rims would clear the 14" drums in the rear. | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 581 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 581 | I'm not sure what the '76-'81 wheels were, but if they were 16.5" I'd not use them. Hard to find tires for.
I used the rims from the mid 80's K2500's. They are an 8-lug 16" and don't rub the tie rod ends. They work great on my '46 3/4ton. | | |
