Before it was replaced the gauge in the dash did not work(found out why when i pulled the sending unit-In peices) While tank was out and wiring disconnected the gauge read full with the key turned on for a few days, then the gauge stayed a empty. Replaced the tank and sending unit connected the wires they way the were removed. the gauge still shows empty.

One wire from the gauge. Some people run another ground wire from a sender attachment bolt/screw to any good ground point.

With the sending unit removed from tank and manually operated the guage goes from the dot closest to the E (im assuming 1/4 tank) to inbetween 1/4 and 1/2 with the float at the full position. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 2,031 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 2,031 | test it BEFORE you put the sender back in the tank
hook up the two wires [gauge & good ground] and actuate the float......... see if your gauge /sender works 1st.
BEST if put this in stovebolt electrical
