Everyones always going on about lowering springs for there trucks, not that theres anything wrong with that, but have any of yall lifted a truck using springs or coil spring spacers? Just curious to how hard it is, and how dangerous?

You could use either cargo coils (stiffer spring) or, if they'll fit the seats, a 3/4 ton spring. Not sure how much lift you'll get from that, though. Another option would be to add a spacer in the spring seat, which is how many of the lift kits for newer trucks works. You might also take a look at lift kits for the '73-'87 2wd trucks. I don't know if they're still being made or not, but they used to make them for 2wd desert trucks. Don't use the twist in stle spacers, those are meant only as a temporary fix for a sagging spring, not a permanent lift. Those can cause severe stress on the spring, leading to failure.
One more thing to keep in mind, especially on the front, depending on how high you go, you can put things to the point that it cannot be properly aligned.

I see, thanks a lot for the help. What about shock absorbers, can longer shocks pick up the truck higher?

Longer shocks won't lift the truck, thier function is to dampen the spring action. I did find this , might be worth checking out.

I think i've seen this one before, the problem is my truck is all coils, and i dont know if that can be worked around.

If you're only doing it for looks you could do a body lift instead of a suspension lift. I'm not sure but aren't a lot of newer trucks using all coils?

If they are i'm not aware of it, maybe the brand new ones, cause 06s and 07s have 3 leafs if they are 1/2 ton and 5 if they are 3/4 ton.

Would air bag springs work?
