I have many memories of my first job driving a 1950 GMC delivery van. It was a new all steel model that year, assembled by an outside vendor and sold through GMC dealers. I have seen Chevy versions that had the GMC grille. They ran 15 inch tires that wore out quickly. It looked much like a modern small UPS truck. I hope someone can dig up some old photos or sales information to add to my memories.

Go to your local library and see if they carry "Vintage Truck" magazine. They recently published a few articles on delivery trucks such as you recollect.

I assume you are talking about the Chevy Stepvan. I drove one for Holsum Bread when I was 19. I believe it was a 59 model.
A year later I was driving a 52 Chevy Panel truck. The only pictures I have are in my mind.

Oh, and you should check with some of the other Vintage Chevy sites.

It wasn't a Chevy Step Van. It was more streamlined with a wrap around windshield. It was first sold as a GMC, although I have seen one with a Chevy badge.

I checked the county wide library system and found nothing. Trucks are not a big thing in this part of the country. The Vintage Truck site doesn't help either. I hope someone here gets the magazine.
