The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop front clip alignment

I want to see if I could get some pointers on re-alignment of the front clip. I replaced the front fenders with after market metal ones and new grille. How ever the hood is stock and so are the splash guards. I have a manual but its not enough info i guess.thanks

Nice looking truck. Looks like you started with a very sound beginning.

Lots of information on front end sheet metal alignment in the archives. Are you following the 53 hood alignment thread going on right now?

From what other stovebolters have said, after making sure the cab is sitting squarely on the frame, the hood must be adjusted to fit the cowl using this procedure. It really works. Then everything else lines up based on the now perfectly fitting hood.

Since you are using new after market fenders, the number of shims under the radiator core support may need to be increased or decreased. Is the hood nice and square? How are the hood hinges? These are just a few of the many details that add up to a nice fitting front clip.
