aloha all..
I just recently put together my 56 Chevy suburban..I found it in Phoenix AZ where it had been stored for 26 years..we had a great time with the help of the Salazar Brothers from Watsonville California..
we removed the stock running gear and replaced it with a Mustang 2 front end with power steering and disk brakes..camero rear end with disk brakes..new wire strung throughout front to back..stock 350 with a 350 turbo tranny..quite a bit of metal fabrication on the drivers side with salvaged parts from a 58 cameo and a 55 Chevy panel...seats are from a 1998 Chevy Tahoe ...I left the interior as it was for a more nostalgic look...as it stands right now the color is a satin black--soon to be painted...I'm in the process of replacing the windows...so far the front windshield and the rear barn doors have been done..
all existing chrome emblems we're refinished by Faith Bumper Chrome of San Jose..I can't thank Jessie,Armando and Jesus for all their hard work..I hope to post pictures soon...
thanks..
Big Dawg

Hey Dawg,
The Tahoe seats you are using, are they from a 2Dr or 4Dr?I'm trying to find something that will be comfortable and still allow access to the rear seat area as well. Seems everything I've located either doesn't fold or slide forward enough to get in the rear.
Thanks, Herb

Guys I just put front seats and middle seat from 2001 Sub in my 49. I had to build some risers in front as i moved the seats back a couple inches to gain leg room. The reason for front gm seats is integral seat belts and electric adjustments.

Morning Herb...
I want to say it's from a 4 door...
and I'm having the same problem...it will be hard getting in--or out...but the addition of power seats is a comfort factor I don't want to skimp on..
let me know if I can help you in anyway...
