As I am working on my '63 C20 I have decided to do tech tips for things that may be of interest to others. I already did the one for rebuilding heater controls, but I had ideas for a couple others. I thought I would see if there is some interest before I spend a ton of time on write ups and all.

First one, rebuilding the vents. Ever notice how most of the vents have damaged seals on the doors? Well, I'm dealing with that now to the point of separating the two halves of the doors. Any interest in seeing a detailed explanation on that? The second one deals with the heater controls again. It has to do with separating the metal bracket from the face and putting it back together again. Any interest in that one too?

Just thought I would check. Please let me know of any other ideas you guys might have on how to stuff. I'm willing to take the time to go through it if it helps others out.

Thanks for the push, Joe. I am going to do write-ups on both items. The vent one became a definite must-do once I realized that a lot of vendors actually sell the seal set for the doors. That makes it even more imperative to show others how to replace them. The heater control one has to be done too, I myself have wondered how to do that and that is why I am doing it. I have to satisfy my curiosity

Bears 63, I think that would be a good idea as i am at that point now to. I was wandering how they came apart, the vents. Thanks for the time on the heater details as it was helpful to me.

I'm sure tons of people will find it more useful then you'll ever know. there are too many greedy web sites out there that make you pay for the smallest bit of of help.....quite sad in my opinion. I remember the days when the internet was like an electronic library, filled with helpful info.

I guess I better get busy and give the camera a workout then...lol... I don't mind doing this stuff and sharing it with everyone, I had to learn all this myself without anyone assisting me for most of it so I really want to make it easier for others to learn. Too bad most places will only teach you if you pay. I just like the feeling of knowing that I have helped.

Yep, I did but I have a set of heater controls that I need to go even further with. I am removing the bracket from the face of the controls. Getting the bracket off is easy, putting it back on is a bit interesting.
