Can you tell me if the 1960 and 1962 series 10 spindles are the same and what newer years they interchange with?
Thanks Long, I've also found that the ball joints backing plates and drums are also the same.
A stock set of ball bearings for the 1960-61 series 10 cost about $275 dollars. at it happens I have to replace at least one spindle and one hub on this truck and it would appear that if I replace both spindles and both hubs with 1962 up stuff, I can update the bearings to much better roller bearings that will only cost $40 a set.
I'll post a picture as soon as it's back on all four.

Apparently, all you have to do to convert a 1960-61 series 10 truck to roller bearings is get a pair of 62-up tapered bearing hubs and slap them on the factory spindles. Done deal!
I've already bought an NOS 3797525 front spindle to replace the damaged one on the truck and a set of 62- up roller bearings. All I need to do now is find a pair of 6 lug hubs and I'm in business! I am going to post for some in the WTB section.
Anyway, I'm going to give it a shot as soon as I can locate some hubs. I'll post back here and let you know how it turned out.
Again, I really appreciate your help!

All you have to do to convert 1960 and 1961 half ton ball wheel bearing chevy truck over to tapered roller bearings is find a pair of newer 1962-1968 half ton drum brake hubs. They slide right on to the original spindles and work perfectly with the original brake parts which happen to be exactly the same parts as the newer (62-68)trucks. This won't get you better brakes, but its cheaper to upgrade it to roller bearings than it is to buy a new set of the original ball bearings(about $250).
You will also need the newer spindle nut washer and the dust caps. They're smaller in diameter.
I want everyone that reads this to know, I contacted alot of people to trying to figure this out. Stove bolt was the only place I could find actual infomation (not smart a-- remarks)about this truck. Many thanks to dakota and 3B for the help on this. You guys are the best!
