Grant was building a big block powered truck and I can't remember if it was a Task Force or a 60's truck. But he had a lot of pictures including his approach to steering.
I've not seen him post in a while and last I knew he was real busy working.

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 45 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 45 | That's a nice truck.The '58 here has 8,395 miles on it,has a 283 that got rain water in it and froze and split it.The kid I got it from pulled the nose off in anticipation of a fix-up that he never had time for.The GarWood dump body is about as perfect as you can get,barely a dent in the floor,or the sides.It came from an orchard,a friend got it from the original owner.The driver's door got hit pretty bad,rest of the cab nice for 50 years old.Have to post up pics soon.Al

| | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 | My 59 jimmy had the pontiac based v8 from the factory. GMC's sollution was to use 2 right hand pontiac exhaust manifolds. That made the driver's side a front dump, and the passanger side a rear dump.
To keep it symmetric, I would imagine you can swap the left and right manifolds on the 427 to get the clearence you need.
