Did you change the oil filter? If you do not have an owner's manual with this information, put in oil until it shows "Full" on the dip stick. Start the engine and run it for a few minutes. Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes. This might have be due to the introduction of the high pressure engine but I bet it was due to the prevalence of high-quality multi-grade, detergent oils. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 338 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 338 | there was another thread going related to ZDDP( https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=528089#Post528089) which i believe is an oil additive. the jist of the conversation was the anount of zinc in the oil and was it necessary to have more zinc or were the modern oils ok. relating that thread to this are you using additives or just running modern oils?
