Make sure the brakes including the hydravac are all in tip top shape.
Adjust the clutch and replace if necessary.
Make sure whatever wheels you are running have the right offset to minimize steering effort, and make sure all the bushings, king pins, tie rods, drag link etc., are all properly lubed, and replaced if worn.
In short, I'm suggesting a stock truck is going to be most driver friendly if everything is in good shape and well maintained.
You say you want it to be a daily driver. Do you mean a daily working truck or are you saying you're going to use a 60 year old 2-ton truck like a car?
