I was trying to see where the ID numbers are for my '34 half ton---from the tech tips it seems chevy didn't put numbers on the frame then. Is that true?

that's right, numbers stamped in the frame didn't start until the TF years - not sure about the 30's, but the 40-46 has a tag on the cowl under the hood

Davy, There are two possibilities-- On the firewall(passenger side) or on the rear of the passenger side doorjam. On the 34 I believe it is the doorjam--
