Ok folks,

I've started to install the 3.55 ring and pinion from Patricks and come across a wee problem. The carrier which was in my 41 half ton and the ring from Patrick don't line up. When I put in the two guide bolts as recommended the there is a difference of about 120 thou. I have a rusty carrier in my spares pile and on checking that, it lines up perfectly with the Patricks ring. Hopefully it will clean up ok and be useable. I'm interested however in what the carrier which was in the truck, originally came out of. The number on the carrier is GM 1805159 and the one which does line up ok is number 3652336.

I'd appreciate any input. Also if this old carrier isn't useable any idea where I could pick one up?

Cheers guys

Bob
