Well I am finally getting around to posting my truck. It was that 3800 are the coolest of the cool remark (ha ha) grin

So here's the story...

Recollections from the previous owner [NH]: Note: Names have be omitted to protect the guilty big_eek

The truck was originally purchased in 1952 by [IM] in Virginia and was put to work on a horse farm. The truck gave up the ghost in '58 or '59 in a field (Engine Blew) frown . Attempts were made to fix her, but they failed and she sat. Then [CH] (CH is part of the family) bought the truck in '59 by putting a 1951 chevrolet car engine in it. [CH] also painted the truck green (by hand). I was originally blue. The truck was alive once more. And doing what a Medium Duty truck does, work! work! work!
[DS] and [NH] bought the truck in 1968 for around $250 and continued to work it. In 1973 [NH] become the sole owner. [NH] worked the truck doing any and all jobs. (Ahh the story's and adventures [NH] could tell, and has smile ) During his tenure he added turn signals, new windows, new tires as well as painted the interior. (of course by hand). In 1999 [NH] gave a now dead-3800 to his daughter (in name only as the title never changed hands). By now the truck had no brakes, its share of dents, broken glass, bb-gun hits, rust holes, bald tires and a really bad miss in the motor, which eventually retired it (oh no). Once again the truck was left sitting. Time passed and the truck (fortunately barn kept for years) sat silently waiting..either for its demise or rebirth. Then in 2007 [NH]'s daughter sold the truck to her sister [L] (my wife) (Hmmm I paid for a free truck) (the truck has sentimental value, at least that is what I was told) and this project was started.

Almost 2 years later she has returned with her 3rd motor, this time its a SB400. She will be finished this May (Minor stuff left) and then I will post new pictures.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Man great story, and a great truck! You're definitely one of us "cool 3800 guys", I still think dual wheels are it, but you do have a nice truck with a great story to follow it. Welcome "cool tonner"

Thanks for the compliment. We love our 3800, and if I ever get another AD (someday) it will be another 3800, maybe a dually wink
