on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 22 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: May 2005 Posts: 22 | I have a '61 Stepside and looking for a good replacement seat to put in it. I currently have seats out of a 2004 Avalanche in it, they are 60/40 seats w/ 3 point seatbelts. Problem with them are size, I sit too close to the steering wheel and was wondering if anyone had some recommendations on another option for me on the seats. I eventually plan to put tilt steering in it, but that is a little time off and want to be able to enjoy driving my truck without being cramped in it. Another problem I ran into was the height of the bucket seats and the fact that the mounts on the bottom did not in most cases match the floor configuration of the truck. Your only option are buckets out of a Nissan or other pickup truck, but like a said, you will have to fabircate the seat mounts to fit the configuation of the floor in your truck. I finally gave it up and wound up using the bench seat out of a mid '90's Ford Lariat. I also fixed the steering wheel problem with an Ididit column and a small Grant steering wheel. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 22 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: May 2005 Posts: 22 | Great information and gives me a starting point on the seats. I have been looking at the Ididit columns and want to fix my seat before I commit to the steering column upgrade.
