I have been looking for a radiator for our 1957 6400 with a 261. Anybody have any knowledge as to what other radiators will fit? Napco Man (a fellow stovebolter) has, I believe, a radiator from an AD 6400. Will this work? Will other models or a half/three quarter/1 ton work? Thanks

I have a good radiator from a 58 C-60 Viking. It was full of anti freeze when I removed it when I sold the cab. dlhenk. 785-738-7936

Thanks for the offer, but I have a couple of radiators locally that should work, depending on compatibility. If they don't work out I might send you a message though. Thanks again.

what do you mean by "fit"? the rad mounting on any size/year TF conventional cab truck should be the same .... the factory assy manual shows different rad #'s for 3000 series vs 4/6000, meaning one is HD to suit heavier use - it's still a 6cyl tho, and the core support is the same, so I'd expect if you're not going to be haulin freight up steep grades daily, any TF rad will "fit" .... an AD rad is a different animal and the core support is different

Thanks for the info, it helps a lot!! It is going to be used for a while to haul dirt from digging a pond. I know it has been said before not to use a lighter truck radiator in a heavier truck because of the inability to cool the engine suffiently, is this totally true? By what is mentioned it seems as if a smaller radiator will work just fine?
Thanks

I'd do it - I'd be more concerned to have a rad that fits the space properly - if it tends to run a bit hot it'd be at slow speeds under heavy load, and a shroud should take care of that
