Not stovebolt but it gets me to my shop to work on my stovebolt (so it's OK to ask). I have factory aluminum wheels that are peeling pretty bad. If I get them stripped or blasted what is the best paint to use? Should I clear coat them or spray them with some silver?

Strip them, polish them, and leave it at that. That is the #1 problem we have with the clearcoated (and chromed) aluminum wheels we sell, the finish peels off. Polished wheels will keep their finish much longer, as long as their maintained.
However, if you do want to refinish them, you might check out this kit form POR 15. I've never used it myself, but I have used their other products with good results.

Never tackled a set of vehicle wheels but on Harleys with the aluminum wheels especially dressers, is to polish them and have them clearcoated at a local body shop, I did my uncles dresser wheels for him 4 yrs. ago an they look like new still and so do others we have done.
But that could be it holds up better on the motorcycle wheels because they dont see the harsh weather that vehicle wheels see like road salt and extreme temps??
just a thought,
Tim
