The rear end had blue markings and the springs had light green markings. Were these used by the factory to help ensure the proper parts were used in assembly?
What do they mean?
I thought it was pretty cool to see that they were still on there from 1962. Anybody else seen this before??

On a '54 2 ton there were numbers and other markings on the front springs. On the '49 Chevrolet Convertible we are just finishing up, we put many of the marks back on. Most notibly was a yellow stripe on the rear end axle tube. It must have been a way to identify certain parts during assembly.
